Over the past few months, Yangyang has been teaching lessons and answering your questions live using Google+ Hangouts on Air. These live lessons are different from the regular lessons on Yoyo Chinese because Yangyang let's you decide what she is going to teach and what kinds of questions she is going to answer. The videos are listed below so you can have them all in one place and go back to review them easily.
Hangouts 1 & 2
The first two hangouts focus on long and in depth lessons about topics such as how to say "chu, qu, ren and yan" correctly, how to say "you're awesome", and the difference between all the different hotel words in Chinese. Read full descriptions and click the links below to watch the videos.
Hangouts 3 & 4
In the two most recent hangouts, Yangyang used Google's brand new live Q&A feature to answer questions from students instantly as they asked them! In the recording, the list of questions Yangyang answered is in a column on the right hand side of the video. You can click on a question and it will jump right to the spot in the video where the questions was answered! In these videos, Yangyang answered questions like "How important is it to write Chinese characters?" and "When can you use 'méiyǒu'?". In Pinyin Tips and Tricks, Yangyang teaches you how to pronounce difficult Chinese sounds like "chu", "qu" and "chi", the 'r' in "ren" and how to pronounce "yan" correctly. In Chinese Pinyin, Yangyang shows you how to correctly pronounce "zi ci si zhi chi shi and ri". Yangyang vividly demonstrates how to correctly pronounce these unfamiliar sounds and gives you some tips and tricks to help you remember them. She also answeres some questions from the audience about how to say "you're awesome", and how to say hotel in Chinese including the difference between different hotel words in Chinese: jiǔdiàn, fàndiàn, bīnguǎn, lǚguǎn. In How to Form a Question in Chinese, Yangyang teaches you the two different ways to form a question in Chinese and gives different examples. Then, she answers questions LIVE from the audience - she answers questions such as "How important are tones in Chinese?" and the difference between 'wǒmen' and 'zánmen'. All the questions are listed in a column on the right hand side of the video, just click a question and the video will jump straight to Yangyang's answer! In Chinese Tone Changing Rules, Yangyang first explains Mandarin tone changing rules. She teaches you the tone changes for bù (no/not), yī (one) and how to deal with two 3rd tones in a row Then, she uses Google's exciting new Q&A feature to answer your questions live, instantly as you ask them. She answers questions like "How do you say 'only' in Chinese?" and "How important is it to learn radicals when studying Chinese characters?"
